As part of the Texas A&M Career Center, The Samford Geosciences Career Center exists to promote career learning and development, empowering all Aggies to realize their potential and establishing Texas A&M University as a preferred source of talent.

Comprehensive Career Services


The Traci ’11 and Curtis ’83 Samford Geosciences Career Center is a full service, in-for-the-long-haul partner helping undergraduates, graduates, and Former Students in career preparation and placement - and connecting employers to talent. Offering services from personalized career advising to Career Fairs and networking opportunities - this is where you move forward.

Graduates from the College of Geosciences programs are some of the most sought-after talent. Employers know that our graduates are citizens of character, highly skilled, knowledgeable, and ready to take on our most pressing challenges today and tomorrow. Career Services is with you every step along the way.

Career Advising

General drop-in advising is available for all majors via Zoom. These 15-20 min with the advisor on duty that day are perfect for a resume review or a quick question.

  • Fall & Spring: Mon-Fri 8:30 -11am & 1:30-4pm
  • Summer: Mon-Fri 1:30-4pm
  • Location: 209 Koldus Bldg (as circumstances permit). Contact us for Zoom information.

Longer advising appointments may also be pre-scheduled with an advisor assigned to your college or by calling 979-845-5139.

Geosciences students can request an appointment directly with the Samford Geosciences Career Center.

All pre-scheduled appointments are available either in person or virtually.

  • HireAggies: Texas A&M's online career management system for current and former students featuring an internal job board for internships and full-time jobs, access to thousands of employer profiles and employer informational and recruiting events and several exclusive resources.
  • Careershift: View contact information and job listings for thousands of companies worldwide using targeted searches with a variety of search filter
  • GoingGlobal: Explore opportunities for jobs and internships in countries around the world and research general employment requirements and opportunities in regions of interest
  • Vmock: An automated resume review tool gives instant feedback on your uploaded resume.
  • Sigi3 Self Assessment Tool: Online tools that integrate self-assessment with in-depth occupational information on hundreds of careers
  • Career Insider by Firsthand: Extensive source of career information to research employers, industries and career subjects and link to job postings

  • Career Exploration Days: Visit companies virtually or in-person to learn about the company, ask questions, and network. Student sign-up opens in early November and visits take place the following January during the week before the Spring semester starts.
