Research

Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydraulics, Environmental Geoscience; major research projects include:

  1. Impact of lignite strip mining on mine slope stability, groundwater recovery below reclaimed sites, reclamation soil establishment.
  2. Stream flow erosion around highway bridge piers.
  3. Shoreline erosion, sedimentation, and aeolian sand transport, Texas coastal beaches and Intracoastal Waterway.
  4. Archaeological insitu protection at construction sites.
  5. Debris flows, rockslides and landslides, Utah and Colorado mountains.
  6. Groundwater protection through monitor well seals and procedures.
  7. Expansive soils and light structure damage.
