Colonel David E. Bacot, US Air Force (retired), ‘90 joined the Texas A&M Foundation in Dec 2020. In this role, David serves as an ambassador of Texas A&M to unite donor generosity with the university and college’s vision towards creating a brighter future.

Colonel Bacot served 31 years on active duty, with diverse assignments across the spectrum of weather and environmental science operations, from defense strategic space policy to global weather forecasting for joint force operations. He commanded at the squadron, group, and vice-wing levels, and served as a staff officer for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Headquarters US Air Force, and was the Chief of Weather Operations for Air Combat Command. Colonel Bacot deployed numerous times throughout his career, with several combat tours in the Middle East. He completed his service as the Commander of Air Force ROTC training at the University of Maryland, retiring from active duty in 2020 to return home to Texas A&M.
