Starts New Position October 1st

Dr. Piers Chapman has been named head of the Department of Oceanography in the College of Geosciences. Chapman received his B.Sc. in Chemistry and his Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from the University College of North Wales in the UK. Most recently Chapman was Director of the CREST program at Louisiana State University. Chapman is a member of several professional associations including the Limnological Society of Southern Africa, the Oceanography Society, and the American Geophysical Union. He has been a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist since 1978 and was elected a Fellow in 1995.
