iGeo

iGeo introduces motivated and talented under-represented high school juniors and seniors to the geosciences. For three days iGeo participants explore educational opportunities, live like a college student, and meet other high school students from around the state.

Live the college life

iGeo participants attend classes, participate in group activities, and tour the College of Geosciences and Texas A&M. Learn about Texas A&M by living on campus. Geosciences professors lead workshops in geosciences disciplines, conduct labs, and discuss career choices. Current College of Geosciences students serve as peer leaders during the program.

Students experience college life firsthand by rooming with current geosciences students in residence halls. The iGeo Weekend Program ends with a tailgate celebration.

Get the scoop on admissions, scholarships

You will learn how to apply to Texas A&M, how to submit financial aid forms and how to find scholarships.

Cost

You will perform field and lab experiments much like our students do. If you are selected, iGeo is free, thanks to the sponsorships of Marathon Oil and the College of Geosciences. Successful applicants receive room, meals, and supplies. Mileage reimbursement to and from College Station may be available on an as-needed basis.
